At night, Trieste offers a picturesque vista from its viewpoints, with the city's lights shimmering against the backdrop of the Adriatic Sea.The Canale Grande di Trieste cuts through the heart of the city, connecting the Piazza Sant'Antonio Nuovo to the sea. Lined with colorful buildings, charming cafes, and historic bridges, this canal reflects Trieste’s vibrant cultural scene.During the golden hour, the buildings along Rie Tre Novembre come alive. This historic street, named after Italy’s unification, showcases a blend of architectural styles—neoclassical, baroque, and art nouveau. Each facade tells a story of the city’s past, from Roman roots to Venetian influences.The Trieste City Hall stands on the expansive Piazza Unità d’Italia, its main façade gazing out toward the sea. Designed by architect Giuseppe Bruni, this historic building was erected during the time when Trieste was part of Austria-Hungary. To get a good reflection in a small puddle I set the camera down on the ground which has the additional advantage that no tripod is needed.

The castle’s location is no accident—it perches on a rocky promontory, its foundations touching both earth and water. As you stand here, the wind carries tales of emperors, love affairs, and the crashing waves below. Miramare is a testament to architectural vision and the eternal dance between land and sea.The castle’s exterior reveals intricate details — columns, arches, and ornate carvings.The northern facade of the castle presents a captivating blend of neoclassical elegance and Renaissance-inspired elements, adorned with intricate detailing and framed by the lush greenery of its surrounding parkland.The dining room, adorned with chandeliers and rich tapestries, transports the visitor to a bygone era.Two crystal lamps atop a wooden surface lending a simple yet elegant aesthetic.
